The Tucson Police Department is welcoming a new Assistant Chief next week.
Captain Mark Timpf has been promoted to the Assistant Chief position, according to a TPD news release.
Timpf has actually worked for TPD for more than 23 years with his most recent assignment as the Commander of the Property Crimes Division within the Investigative Services Bureau.
He has been a member of the Tucson Police Department since 1990 and has served as a Captain since October, 2008. Timpf also recently commanded the Academy and Operations Division South Patrol, as well as from March 2012 to May 2013, he was tasked as the Interim Director of the Tucson Convention Center – a post appointed by the City Manager.
His experience as a Department Director will prove invaluable in his pending assignment as Assistant Chief.
