Midnight deadline tonight for voter registration | News

Pima County Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez would like to remind voters that the deadline to register to vote in the November 6, General Election is midnight, TONIGHT!

The Recorder’s office will be conducting CURBSIDE VOTER REGISTRATION, at two locations:

• Downtown office - 115 North Church Avenue from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.  
• Eastside Recorder’s Office - 6920 E Broadway Boulevard, Suite D from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“Anyone who wishes to register to vote, or make a change to their voter registration can do so until 10:00 p.m.,” stated Ms. Rodriguez in a recent news release. “The southbound curb lane on Church Avenue directly in front of the Old Courthouse will be closed to normal traffic during the hours of 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. We will have staff outside to assist voters with their registration right in their cars.”

It is not curbside, but the Eastside Recorder’s Annex (located on the southwest corner of Broadway and Kolb in the Gaslight Theater complex south of Bring Funeral Home) will have staff available in the parking lot near the office from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and inside the office from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. to assist voters who wish to register or make a change to their voter registration.

A new voter registration form must be completed by anyone who has:

• moved (even to a new apartment number in the same complex)
• changed their name since their last registration
• is a new Pima County resident
• or would like to change their party affiliation

Forms may be obtained at the Pima County Recorder’s office, any Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle branch, all post offices and libraries, political party headquarters, and city/town halls. Voters may also log onto the Recorder’s office web site at www.recorder.pima.gov or click on the link called “EZVOTER” for the online Motor Vehicle Division voter registration system. Or, voters may also log onto www.servicearizona.com to access the site directly. Please note that if you use that site, due to the large volume of voter registration changes being made on the site, make sure to save your confirmation receipt as proof.

Rodriguez stated in the same news release, “Don’t miss out on being able to exercise your right to vote in this very important election! Be sure you are registered by October 9, 2012.”
