Local gun-control advocates rally to demand action | News
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- As a new poll shows support for stricter gun control may be waning, dozens of gun-control advocates gathered today in South Tucson as part of a national movement called "National Day to Demand Action."
Mothers from across the country joined President Obama at the White House today, urging Congress to take action on gun control.
Here in Tucson, local gun-control advocates held their own rally.
The CBS News poll, which was conducted last week by phone, surveyed more than 1,100 adults across the country.
It found that support for stricter gun laws is at 47 percent, down from 57 percent just after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Nearly 40 percent want laws kept where they are.
11 percent want gun laws that are less strict.
