Pima County Dispose-A-Med event this weekend | Events
What do you do when your medicine is old or you stop taking it and have some left over? Do you throw it in the trash, or maybe down the toilet? Neither of these is a good idea as they both contaminate the environment. The Pima County Sheriff's Department is offering an alternative to both with a 'Dispose-A-Med' event.
The collection site will be the Safeway at 9050 E. Valencia Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 28. This event is free of charge to the public and no questions are asked. Items they will be accepting are:
- prescription and over-the-counter tablets,
- capsules
- liquids
- creams
Metal or glass inhalation aerosol bottles, syringes and epi-pens will not be accepted. For safety and confidentially reasons, any items turned over for collection cannot be returned.
They cannot accept drugs from commercial organizations.
If there are any questions, please contact the Community Resources Unit at (520) 351-4615.
