Warrants out for suspects in southside shooting | Crime
On the evening of February 20, South Tucson Police Officers responded to a call about a shooting, in the 2000 block of South 6th Avenue.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a man suffering from a single gunshot to the chest. The man was identified as Azar Ian Rust, according to police he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to South Tucson Police an arrest warrant has been issued for Raul Valdez Garcia. He is described as a Native American/Hispanic male, 6’0” tall weighing 230 pounds, he also has numerous tattoos on his neck and body.
The warrant is for the following two counts: (one) Count of Participating in a Criminal Street Gang, a class 2 felony; and (one) Count of Aggravated Assault on an Incapacitated Victim, a class 6 felony.
The suspect, who police believe actually shot Rust, is still on the loose, he has been identified as ‘Oscar’.
Anyone with information on Garcia and/or ‘Oscar’ is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
