South Tucson police search for suspect in fatal stabbing

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Police are searching for a man responsible for a stabbing homicide in South Tucson on Thursday morning.

According to the City of South Tucson Police Department, crews responded to a residence in the 400 block of East 30th Street and pronounced the unidentified victim to be dead at the scene. 

The investigation was ongoing and another resident was interviewed by detectives.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, possibly in his 30s with a faded-type haircut and thin mustache. He is around 6'2" and 190 pounds, with a scar and deformity on his head.

Man stabbed to death in South Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- A man was stabbed to death this morning in South Tucson.

South Tucson Police were called to the scene near East 30th Street and South Third Avenue at about 5:30.

A 911 call reported that a man was stabbed in a fight with another man.

Responding officers found a man with multiple stab wounds. He died at the scene.

Witnesses said the other man fled the scene.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

There is no word of any arrests.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Tucson police have found a vehicle they say belonged to a homicide victim.

The white 1994 Ford Explorer belonged to George Martinez, 59, who police say was killed Saturday evening.

Police found the SUV Sunday. It was found unoccupied in the 100 block of East 28th Street in South Tucson. It has been impounded and is being processed for further investigation.

Police were responding to a check welfare call Saturday at a residence in the 2200 block of East 19th Street when they found Martinez. He showed obvious signs of trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police urge anyone with information about this crime or the vehicle to call 911 or 88-CRIME immediately.

Police seek suspect in South Tucson shooting

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Police in South Tucson are looking for a man they say is involved in a fatal shooting on Saturday afternoon.

Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, 5'05" tall, thin build, with a very slight mustache. He was wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Jacob Michael Leon, 18, was shot and killed at South 10th Avenue and West 29th Street.

The suspect was last seen running south through the neighborhood.

SUV busts security fence near UPRR main line, driver disappears

An SUV plowed thru a security fence, then across two tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad's main line, yesterday evening, eventually coming to rest in a wash on the opposite side of the tracks.

The driver reportedly fled.  Tucson Police are currently investigating the incident.
