The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting fellow southern Arizona residents to come out to their 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kickoff Luncheon! The Walk Kickoff is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 25 at the Outback Steakhouse located at 4871 E Grant Road in Tucson. While the event is free to attend, tickets are required for the lunch.
“We are proud to partner with Outback Steakhouse for this Kickoff luncheon!” said Dan Lawler, Development Director for the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter. “There has never been a greater need for people to join in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Funds raised will provide care and support services to the more than 25,000 individuals in Southern Arizona living with Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to advancing critically-needed research.”
**The actual 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Tucson, is October 13 at Gene C Reid Park in Tucson. Registration and entertainment will start at 7:30 am with the Walk commencing at 9 a.m.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than a walk. It is an experience for participants to learn about Alzheimer's disease and how to get involved with this critical cause, from advocacy opportunities, the latest in Alzheimer’s research and clinical trial enrollment to support programs and services. Each walker will also join in a meaningful ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease. To start or join a team today go online to www.tucsonalzheimerswalk.org.
For more information or to procure tickets, please contact Carola at 520.322.6601 or cromero@alz.org. Tickets are free, but donations are gladly accepted and will be used to help support the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission.
